Housing e-Academy Experts

To ensure that all our courses are fully up to date and sector specific, we work with a number of social housing sector experts. Take a look at a handful of those we are currently working with.

Ceri Lewis

Ceri began writing e-learning courses for the Housing e-Academy in March 2012. She has a degree in housing and she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Ceri has worked in the sector for over 20 years. She has been a director of housing and has significant experience of frontline services which makes her acutely aware of what practitioners need in terms of quality and topical e-learning courses.

Ceri said, "Having worked in the social housing sector for many years, I know the importance of providing high quality, cost effective staff training which is non-disruptive to front line services.

The Housing e-Academy is an established e-learning provider, specialising in staff training for the social housing sector. Their experience and expertise within the sector has allowed them to develop online courses providing new staff with the knowledge required to be effective in their role, and experienced staff with the opportunity to keep up to date with the latest laws and legislations, such as the Welfare Reform Act 2012.

I believe the demand for e-learning will continue to grow in this sector, which continually looks for new ways to innovate. It will become a core tool to support staff to develop knowledge and deliver quality services".

Jo Rawnsley

Jo Rawnsley has extensive experience of working in the social housing sector, and has been working independently as a consultant and trainer since 2005. She is a qualified Social Worker, and has worked in both adult social care as well as children’s services. Jo also provides services to third sector organisations. Her focus is to support organisation and individuals to deliver quality services. Jo has an excellent reputation; she is a skilled trainer and consultant and always delivers to the highest standards.

Jo said, "The Housing e-Academy is a well established e-learning brand within the social housing sector and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with them. Their professionalism and experience in course development has made the whole process of authoring incredibly smooth. Their input and ideas have proved to be fundamental throughout and have helped me to write courses which I hope people will find informative and interesting".

Chris Root

Chris Root was the Equality and Diversity Manager at the Housing Corporation prior to becoming a consultant and trainer. She has worked in equality and diversity for over 28 years and has received three British Diversity Awards. Chris’s knowledge and understanding of the equality and diversity issues that housing organisations face, and her ability to help people overcome them, is first class. Her training skills are second to none.

Chris said, "Having specialised in equality and diversity within the housing sector for over 28 years, I know how important it is to get the message right. I am delighted to be working with the Housing e-Academy in order to ensure that all their courses contain the relevant equality and diversity legislation and practice. Working with the Housing e-Academy has been, and will continue to be, an absolute pleasure. They listen to and understand their customers and always ensure that their training needs are at the forefront of everything they do. I look forward to continuing our strong relationship in the future".
