Colne Housings commitment to the roll out of e-learning across the organisation has been recognised for the second quarter running. The housing provider have been awarded ‘Highest number of modules passed (based on total number of learners)’ and ‘Best completion rate for the nominated module What is Housing?’ by the Housing e-Academy.
E-learning has been implemented following a thorough pilot of the system, leading to identification of individual staff members' training needs and roll out, including training to all staff. E-learning is also an integral part of Colne’s staff induction programme, with all new staff being allocated their ‘core modules’ and a dedicated e-learning ‘champion’ providing one to one tuition to them within their first month of employment.
Lisa Rothery, Resources Manager at Colne Housing said ‘We have inducted 6 new staff in the last 6 month period, and all have completed their e-learning core modules. All comments and surveys received back from those staff that have taken the modules is very positive, with staff liking the flexibility of this type of training, and feeling that they are introduced to the housing world at a much earlier stage than they may be would be if they had to be enrolled onto an external class led training course. I am very proud that the staff team at Colne has worked together to win both awards this quarter, and I am delighted that Colne’s staff appear to be supporting and embracing whole heartedly this way of learning’
Chloe Weatherhead, Housing e-Academy Manager said ‘The awards are given to the members who’s results have shown the greatest completion rate for the e-learning modules. Completion rates for all our members are compared and I am really pleased that Colne have come out top in both categories this quarter. Colne Housing was very pleased and surprised to receive both these awards, as e-learning provided by the Housing e-Academy was only introduced to the organisation 7 months ago.’
Lisa added, ‘Colne believe that e-learning is a cost effective and efficient method of delivering core training to its entire work force, in a streamlined and flexible way and provides an additional training tool to its already regional award winning staff training and development programme.’
