The Equality Bill became the Equality Act 2010 on 8th April. The main provisions will come into force in October this year and the balance in March 2011. The anticipated changes will impact on both staff training and the services you offer to your customers.

Prezi is a presentation tool that uses a map layout and zooming to show contextual relationships.
At the end of the webinar you should be able to:
• Make presentation smart and professional
• Have a presentation in canvas style
• Add text, images and videos into the canvas
• Zoom in and out without frames.

There are loads of tools, some free some with a cost, that your organisation could use to engage with all customers and colleagues regardless of age, location or mobility. Traditional methods can be costly and often attract the same few people every time – not brilliant in our diverse population.
This webinar will show you a number of tools already available and in use that your organisation could easily use as part of the engagement strategy.

Submitted by kirsten on 9 April, 2010 - 09:25.The aim of the general meeting is to network, share best practice and catch up on developments within the Housing e-Academy. All members are invited to attend the general meeting and bring along any colleagues who have an active interest in specific agenda items. For example if we are discussing tenant engagement you may want to bring along a colleague who deals with tenants on a regular basis.
We will also be inviting along external speakers such as asset skills etc. If you would like us to invite along a particular speaker or discuss a particular topic please let me know. Be warned – I may ask for your help in finding an appropriate person to talk on a subject if I have no knowledge of it!
We will plan to hold 2 general meetings per year running from 10:30 – 14:30. It is hoped that these timings will allow for travel without too much disruption.

Webinar - Social Networking in Tenant Engagement

In 2009, the proportion of adults who were recent internet users - who accessed the internet every day or almost every day - was 73% (27.3 million adults).
The most popular activity of recent internet users was sending and receiving emails, at 90%. However, 2009 also saw a boom in social networking. 40% of recent internet users stated that they posted messages to chat sites, blogs and newsgroups (up from 20% in 2008).
The majority of social networking tools are free of charge so why not use them to engage with your customers? This webinar will share best practice and give ideas of how your organisation could use social networking as a key element of its communication and engagement strategy.
